Former Rep. Allen West (R-FL) will not seek a 2014 rematch with Rep. Patrick Murphy, the Democrat who narrowly defeated him for a House seat in 2012.
West, a Tea Party favorite, said he has his sights set on "something far greater."
"If all you want to know is if I am running for Congressional district 18, the answer is no. My sights and objectives, political and otherwise, are focused on something far greater," West told the Palm Beach Post via text message on Wednesday.
